Field hockey goalkeeper coaching

Know how they play.Know how they grow.

Gloveside is three tools for goalkeeper coaches. Perform logs every circle entry on match day. Progress tracks skill badges through the training week and shows parents real progress. Trial lets a selection panel score keepers privately and pick the squad.

All three install on Android, iPhone and iPad straight from the browser, with no app store step.

One for match day. One for the training week. One for trial day.

Pick the one you need today. Use them together and each one informs the others.

Training week

The training-side companion. Track 32 skills against written criteria, see what each keeper should work on next, and give parents a private view of real progress.

Five levels per skill, then an overall Bronze, Silver or Gold badge.

  • 32 skills, written downEvery skill has criteria for each level, so a badge means the same thing from one session to the next.
  • Standards that fit the keeperAge band and years in goal set the level each skill is expected to reach, so a beginner is measured against a beginner.
  • Focus areas, not just scoresSee which skills are below standard and which critical skill is holding a badge back.
  • Built for a squadLog a session in one pass, and keep 25 keepers or more manageable with search and review filters. Works through poor signal.
  • A private view for parentsInvite-only, with a 6-digit emailed code instead of a password. Parents see only their own keeper, never coach notes or contact details.

In alpha trial. Coaches can register and try it now. It is still being shaped, so some things may change as we learn what coaches need.

Trial day

Run a goalkeeper trial from your phone. Each selector scores privately on their own phone, and the lead selector gets a ranked list with a cut line to make the final call.

Keeper A 8.5 Keeper B 8.0 Keeper C 7.5 CUT LINE Keeper D 6.5 Keeper E 6.0

A ranked list with a cut line, built from blind scores. Example scores.

  • Blind scoringEach selector scores on their own phone. Nobody sees anyone else's scores until every selector has submitted.
  • Your scoring, your wayFive starting components you can rename, reweight or grow to eight, scored 1 to 10 in half points.
  • Rounds that narrow the fieldEach round carries forward only the keepers the lead selector confirms.
  • The lead makes the callSee the ranking, spot where selectors differ by more than a point, and move keepers across the line before sharing the result with the panel.
  • Works offline, stays privateNo accounts and no server. Data stays on the devices, and trial files move by AirDrop, Nearby Share or message. Keepers never need the app.

In alpha trial. Free to try for 7 days, and selectors never need a licence.

Better together

Match evidence feeds the training plan.

Perform shows how a keeper plays in matches. Progress shows how they develop in training. Each skill in Progress notes the match signal worth watching, so what happens on Saturday informs what you work on during the week. When a panel picks a squad in Trial, the exported results can include a keeper's Perform season stats.

MatchLog circle entries and saves in Perform.
ReviewSpot the weak patterns in the printed match review.
TrainWork the focus skills and award badges in Progress.
ShareParents see the badge, the next step and what moved this month.
SelectScore keepers blind in Trial and pick the squad.

We are in the alpha trial.

Alpha is the very first stage of testing. All three tools work, and real coaches can use them today, but we are still shaping them with the people who try them. Here is what that means for you.

Free to try

Perform and Progress cost nothing during the trial, and Trial is free for 7 days. Details of any future plans will be shared well before anything changes.

Expect rough edges

Something may look odd, feel clumsy or be missing. That is normal at this stage, and it is exactly what we want to hear about.

You shape it

Tell us what is confusing, what is missing and what you would use every week. Your ideas decide what gets built next.

Keep your own copy

Perform and Trial keep your data on your own device, so save a backup or export after each round or trial. Keep a note of anything you cannot afford to lose.
